Description: | Games blog from Apoth0r.com? Sadly Flappy Fighter is currently not available on the App Store due to receiving an official complain from "somebody" and Apple removing it. The developers are working on rectifying the situation, but as of right now this is the only game on our Best of 2019 list that you can't currently download. Still, it felt right to include it because of the expert way in which Flappy Fighter took the essence of fighting game mechanics and adapted them for the touchscreen. Instead of worrying about complicated button inputs to pull off moves, everything is mapped to just 4 large buttons meaning you can focus on your timing and quick reactions rather than hoping to pull off the right moves with unreliable touch inputs. The community at large has really embraced Flappy Fighter by constantly coming up with bigger and more elaborate combos, and before the takedown there was a constant drip feed of new updates for the game with many more planned. Perhaps they flew a bit TOO close to the sun in terms of being an homage to Street Fighter, but with such promising mechanics I hope Flappy Fighter makes its way back someday so it can reach its full potential.
GRID Autosport launched in 2019 and immediately became one of the best racing games for Android. The Riptide GP and Asphalt franchises are also quite good, but GRID Autosport hits almost all of the check marks. It's a premium game with no in-app purchases or advertising. The game also boasts excellent graphics, excellent controls, hardware controller support, tons of content to play through, tons of cars to unlock, and a variety of racing styles. The game is a bit expensive and it's missing some smaller things racing fanatics tend to like, but it's otherwise one of the best racing experiences in the Play Store.
Higher ranks: Role mastery, knowledge, and callouts: So, you've made it past the lower ranks and you're in the higher tiers of the ladder, like Platinum or Diamond. What's next? While having great aim and decent game sense is what got you to this tier, you're going to need to work even harder to climb the ladder further. Specifically, three things are more important than anything else: mastering a role; having a strong understanding of heroes and maps, and communicating specific pieces of information. Whichever role (damage, tank, support) you played the most while down in the lower ranks is the one that you should aim to fully master in the higher ones. This is because you've already spent a lot of time learning where you fit into the team and what your job is, and at these ranks, other players will be just as experienced as you are.
